BRIDPORT Indoor Bowls Club are celebrating another case of individual success after one of their members won silver with the England Learning Disability team.

Daniel Humphreys, who only began playing bowls in 2018, was selected to play against Scotland and Wales in the Munro Cup in Falkirk.

Humphreys played in the doubles and triples competitions, winning two of their four matches.

After an eventful competition, the home team, Scotland, won gold along with the Munro Cup. Team England won silver with Team Wales taking the bronze medal.

Next year, the competition will be held in Cardiff.

Humphreys has also played for Devon Under-25s representing his county both indoors and outdoors.

Along with Bridport, he also turns out for Honiton indoors and in the summer switches to Chardstock outdoors.

He picked up his England chance after travelling to Tamworth, Staffordshire to trial for the disability team before Christmas last year.

Humphreys is lucky to have been given so much support and encouragement from Bridport and especially Arthur Stone, who has coached him from the start.
