LYME REGIS 2

CREDITON UNITED II 5

LYME Regis again showed their inconsistent ways this season with a 5-2 home loss to Crediton United Seconds.

Rob Fellingham’s men remain fifth in the Devon & Exeter League Premier Division, however this result will have the Seasiders looking for a suitable response at Elmore Seconds on Saturday (3pm).

Lyme’s Brad Rowe led a solo counter-attack to score from a one-on-one before Crediton equalised through a Tom Parkins header from a Guy Allum corner.

Allum also provided Crediton’s second for Mark Broome, who lashed home from six yards before half-time.

Teenage talent Ben Perry made it 3-1 with a 25-yard effort but Michael Knight pounced on a deflection to score from the edge of the box for 3-2.

Perry added a fourth after a poor clearance from keeper Will Meech and Creddy completed the scoring when Perry’s swinging cross found Allum for a diving header.

Speaking post-match, Lyme interim boss Fellingham said: “It’s been so up and down, we haven’t found any consistency the last month or so.

“Saturday was really disappointing. As a team, we weren’t remotely happy with our performance or how we competed.”

Ethan Matthews and Josh Daines return but Gary Knight (hamstring) is out of the Elmore clash.
