LYME Regis manager Julien Simier refused to write off Okehampton Argyle Seconds despite their poor record in the Devon & Exeter League Premier Division this season.

Simier’s men travel to Simmons Park looking to inflict a 12th defeat in 13 games on Argyle’s second string, who currently post a goal difference of minus 76.

However, with Lyme not having played since Saturday, December 17, the Seasiders are running cold into a game they might ordinarily be expected to breeze through.

And the resulting dose of caution from Simier underlines the tricky task posed by the circumstances.

He told the Bridport & Lyme Regis News: “We don’t know where they are, because we haven’t played for a while.

“A club like Okey, you never know what they can pull out of the bag.

“They can pick up a couple of good players from anywhere, it’s quite a good catchment.

“We do hope to get three points. There’s no easy game but we’re going there quite confident.

“We’d love continuity and to play them when we’re on a high.

“Both teams’ legs are going to drop second half and it’s going to be one of them where you have to concentrate and minimise mistakes.”

Callum Garrett and Dan Beer (both knee) remain doubts, while Gary Knight is unavailable.
