DON McAllister delivered a standout performance to win the monthly medal at Bridport & West Dorset Golf Club.

On a beautiful and serene day, McAllister topped the list of 53 eager players to the course.

The competition took place under clear skies, a stark contrast to the recent stormy weather that had pounded the area.

Despite the challenging weather conditions, the course was open for play all weekend, with all 18 main greens ready for action, a testament to the dedication of the club's staff after contending with four inches of rain.

And McAllister utilised conditions best in Division Three, delivering an impressive performance with a gross score of 90 and a remarkable net score of 67 after applying his 23-handicap allowance.

The achievement was celebrated with a well-deserved trophy presentation as club chairman, Geoff Joy, presented to him the award.

McAllister said: "The course was in excellent condition, especially considering the amount of rain we have all had recently. Our thanks must go to the whole staff for getting the course playable."

In Division One, the leaderboard was fiercely contested, with Grant Gerrard emerging as the winner with a score of 79, including a handicap of 10, resulting in a net score of 69.

Will Turner secured the second position with a score of 77, while Gary Edwardes rounded off the top three with a score of 79.

Division Two saw Tony Burt as the victor with an impressive score of 82 and a 13-handicap allowance, resulting in a net score of 69.

Matt Powne secured the second position with an identical net score of 69, while Steve Sadler followed closely behind in third place with a net score of 70.

In Division Three, Terry Cleal secured the second spot behind McAllister with a net score of 68, closely followed by Alan Newham, who also recorded a net score of 68, taking the third position.

Joy expressed his gratitude towards the dedicated club staff for their hard work and commitment in ensuring the course remained open and in excellent condition despite the recent adverse weather conditions.

He also shared exciting news regarding the club's future, highlighting the upcoming launch of the Toptracer golf range and the imminent introduction of the new club franchise.

He emphasized the club's positive direction and encouraged both members and visitors to experience the latest technology offered by the Toptracer range.
