PARLEY 1

BEAMINSTER 2

BEAMINSTER made it a hat-trick of wins in Dorset League Division One with a 2-1 win at Parley.

Beaminster are now second in the table on nine points, only behind leaders Maiden Newton & Cattistock on goal difference.

The Rainbows started the game on the front foot and got the breakthrough in the 15th minute when a long pass from Archie Kershaw was smartly taken in his stride by Noah House.

As he burst into the box, he was brought down and brother Isaac had no problem converting from the spot for 1-0.

Noah House was superbly denied with a brilliant tip-over save but Parley kept Beaminster keeper Archie Kershaw busy with numerous calls to action.

However, three minutes from half-time, Kane Daysh powered home a strong header at the back post from a free-kick.

Beaminster started the second half brightly with Isaac House’s effort spectacularly saved by the Parley keeper and Ryan Sweetman’s thumping header deflected over the bar.

The Rainbows continued to create openings and in the 70th minute got the winner.

Isaac House dispossessed the keeper and slipped in Robin Jones who dribbled past two defenders before squaring to Noah House for a tap in at the back post.

Beaminster manager Murray Legg told the club's social media channel: “I was really pleased with all 14 players used.

“The mentality of this team has changed and there is such a desire to win games.

“Everyone had an impact on the match. We have players happy to do the hard selfless work for the good of the team.

“Our back five, which includes the goalkeeper, were awarded man of the match.

“They managed the second half really well and contained Parley’s main threat.

“Charlie Pomeroy was also effective when coming into the full-back role during the second half.

“I asked players to play different roles and we had to make a number of changes during the game, everyone showed versatility. I couldn’t ask for more.”

Beaminster will seek a fourth straight win at Milborne Port on Saturday (3pm).
