WEYMOUTH manager David Oldfield admitted the “worrying trend” of conceding early in the second half is “blatantly not good enough” for the Terras.

Weymouth have conceded within the first ten minutes of the second half in ten separate games of Oldfield’s 22-match tenure so far.

In those ten-minute instances, the Terras have shipped a combined 13 goals – including three between the 47th and 54th minutes against Wrexham.

The latest concession of that nature came on Saturday in the 2-1 loss to Barnet.

Quizzed on the subject, Oldfield told Echosport: “That is blatantly not good enough.

“We have looked at that over the period of time since I’ve been in, and how we come out of half-time.

“Too often we fold and concede early. It’s a worrying trend that has to be addressed.

“We can moan about other things, but when that happens at the start of second halves, then you get what you deserve.”

Asked if a lack of concentration could explain the trait, Oldfield said: “It’s probably an all-round factor.

“I need to take responsibility for that. The players go out and play, so there’s obviously some responsibility there too.

“We need to make sure we’re focused and concentrated and that physically we’re ready and tactically we know what we’re doing.

“All those key factors we need to make sure we pull together. It’s an important point that we have to do better on.”
