WEYMOUTH will not be “bystanders” at Stockport County tomorrow (3pm), boss Brian Stock declared.

Stockport are favourites to win the Vanarama National League, while Weymouth are ranked as 750/1 outsiders.

County are well positioned after their first six games, with 13 points, while the Terras have earned just four.

Weymouth make the 250-mile trip to Edgeley Park today by coach but Stock insists the Terras mean business and will not be overawed by opponents who were in League Two 10 years ago.

He told Echosport: “It’s all very well going there for these experiences, but we want to go there and experience a positive result.

“I don’t want to go there and be bystanders, spectators, however you want to say it. We go there to try and win the game of football.

“There are going to be some attractive grounds to play at this year. Stockport will be one of them.

“In order for us to get a result we’re going to have to call upon everything that was positive from Tuesday against Bromley.”

The fixture is Weymouth’s seventh and final game in a hectic October and Stock feels the schedule highlights the “relentless” nature of non-League’s top flight.

“The games come thick and fast in this league,” he said.

“We’ve obviously got back late on Tuesday and we go again (today) to Stockport.

“It’s a relentless league, but that’s the demand. We’ll be doing everything we can to try and prepare the lads physically and mentally.

“(Stockport) have started the season very well and are looking to give it a good old go this year.

“They’ve got some good, physically big players in their side.”

Ben Thomson is expected to recover after a sickness bug, while fellow forward Shamir Mullings will travel to Greater Manchester. Jordan Ngalo (ankle) is a doubt but Jack Dickson remains out.

On Mullings, Stock added: “He’s going to be assessed. He was desperate to be on the bench against Bromley.

“What I don’t want to do with those sorts of injuries is go too quick. He will be travelling, with every intention of being involved.”

On Ngalo, Stock said: “Jordan picked up a strange injury in training. We don’t know the extent of that. He woke up with it.

“He felt a bit of discomfort on the Friday and the pain in his ankle got worse. I’m fully expecting it to settle down.

“I think it might be where he’s had two weeks off, he’s come in, he’s trained and it might just be a nerve problem.”
