BEAMINSTER Cricket Club have signed overseas South African player Daniel Swift for the 2019 season.
Swift, a pacy opening bowler, links up with the West Dorset club ahead of their upcoming County Division Two campaign, which begins on Saturday, May 4 away to Witchampton.
The South African’s arrival bolsters Beaminster’s seam options with captain Ross Baker, all-rounder Rich Runyard, Francis Medley and Simon Jones currently at their disposal.
Beaminster are set to travel to Broadwindsor on Sunday for their latest pre-season game, while the youth setup is already in full swing.
The club’s under-11s lost on Tuesday night to Symene while the under-14s play Chard this evening.
Baker’s men are also enjoying the use of new net facilities, which has boosted the club’s new season preparations as they seek to improve on their sixth-placed finish last year.
