BRIDPORT boss Adam Fricker is seeking maximum points from the Bees’ next two games ahead of a tricky festive and New Year schedule.
Fricker’s men travel to tackle 19th-placed Hengrove Athletic on Saturday (3pm) before hosting Chipping Sodbury, who currently lie one place above his charges in 12th.
But Bridport will encounter three of the current top four – Willand, Westbury and Bitton – in three of the four games to follow.
Fricker said: “I’ve been up to Hengrove quite a few times when I was at Chard and at Bridport. We never really fared that well up there.
“But they’re down there and we’ve got to go up there and be positive, that’s a big thing from my perspective.
“We’ve got two games coming up now where, no disrespect to those teams, I anticipate we’ve got to be getting six points out of these games.
“Then we go into a tough run of fixtures, so it’s important we pick up maximum points in our next couple of games.
“We’re not a million miles away. Although we’re sat in 13th we’re in touching distance of being in the top eight, which is where we finished up last season, and that was with a lot of games that we had to catch up on.
“If we can turn the year in the top 10, for me, we can start building on that and hopefully get a few of the lads back from injury – we’ve not had a settled team this year.”
James Regan (groin) could return, but Richard Hebditch (knee), Matt Condliffe (unavailable) and Braeden Symes (dead leg) miss out.
n Bridport Reserves lost 5-0 away to Hamworthy Rec in the Dorset Senior Trophy quarter-finals.
