A one-man show featuring two creepy tales from Charles Dickens is set to be performed in Dorset.

The production, Ghost of a Smile, will be performed by Nicholas Collett at Powerstock Hut on Saturday, March 8.

The show, adapted and directed by Gavin Robertson, is part of the spring season by local charity Artsreach.

The Ghost of a Smile is based on Dickens' works, The Queer Chair from The Pickwick Papers and The Ghosts of the Mail.

The Queer Chair tells the story of Tom Smart, who gets an unexpected encounter from an old piece of furniture while sheltering from a storm.

The Ghosts of the Mail follows Jack Martin after a well-lubricated supper in Edinburgh.

Jack falls asleep in a compound containing old coaches and wakes up as a passenger on an 18th-century mail coach, with three ghostly companions.

The Guardian has praised the production, calling it "compelling to watch".

All bookings are managed by the respective venues.
