BRIDPORT boss Chris Herbst insisted the Bees’ camp is brimming with belief going into a tough task against Ivybridge Town on Saturday (2.15pm).

Herbst’s men host Town at St Mary’s Field having taken a point at second-placed Crediton United last time out in a 1-1 draw.

Ivybridge were long-time leaders at the start of the South West Peninsula League Premier East season and beat Bridport 1-0 on the opening day.

However, the Ivies have fallen back to third behind pacesetters Okehampton and Crediton.

Their position still contrasts favourably with Bridport’s bottom spot but Herbst feels the Bees are growing in confidence after a string of improving results.

He said: “The squad morale is very high, everyone’s happy. The availability is through the roof but Saturday is going to be tough.

“I watched them away at the start of the season and they have a good way of playing. It will be an interesting test.

“I’m confident after Saturday that we can get something out of the game, definitely.”

He added: “We were talking about games and there were some we should’ve won. So, the belief’s there.”

Bridport have a near fully-fit squad to choose from.

Herbst said: “We don’t really have any (injuries), we’re just waiting on one.

“Everyone’s there, it’s the same squad as last week I’d imagine. I might rotate Josh Grace so I can put him in the reserves and he can get 90 minutes.

“He’s been unlucky and not got on in the last couple, or only for a minute or so. I just like to keep it fresh.”
