FORMER Bridport manager Edgar Marcu has not given up on his managerial aspirations and revealed he is already looking for his next post.

Romanian coach Marcu was sacked on Friday, lasting just seven competitive games having taken just one draw among six losses.

In August, Marcu did lead the Bees to their first clean sheet for 48 games but results worsened in the final three games of his tenure as 16 goals were conceded.

Marcu’s time at Bridport was then ended by chairman Adrian Scadding and the Bees will be overseen by reserve boss Chris Herbst in an interim period.

Speaking to Echosport, Marcu, who this week completes his UEFA B licence, is eager to secure his next manager’s job.

He said: “I’m really looking forward to progressing myself, watching games, keeping my brain active, create training sessions and think about how I can develop my philosophy more and more.

“I’m not going to stop working. I have loads of ideas for whenever I get another opportunity to manage somewhere else – I hope that will be really soon because football is the love of my life.

“I’m looking forward to a new adventure and let’s hope fate will be generous with me and who knows, maybe someone will be interested in what I achieved at Bridport in a very short time.

“I’m not going to hide the fact that while working with Bridport I had phone calls (from interested clubs) but I stayed loyal to Bridport.”
