I was one of those fortunate to receive my first jab.

The organisation of the Health Centre to undertake this huge task, to make us all safe, and eventually to resume a freer life, was simply magnificent. I received an initial phone call giving me an appointment. When I arrived , an army of volunteers directed us, informed us where to go, and watched over us as we waited in the enormous marquee afterwards. We were not rushed, but felt cared for, there were chairs to sit on everywhere.

The giving of the vaccination felt like the best present ever, and given with a smile (behind the mask). Most reassuring.

In big cities and some rural areas people are having to travel some distance, and be in huge buildings. Taunton racecourse or even Salisbury Cathedral are more challenging.

So very well done everyone, and many thanks.

I am sure I speak for many.

My wife and I were called for our coronavirus vaccination at Bridport Medical Centre.

We drove to Bridport and parked in the Bus Station car park before walking to the Medical Centre where we were met by the staff who took our temperature before going for our vaccination, after which we went into the marquee to rest before driving home.

The organisation was absolutely wonderful throughout the whole procedure with everyone being so helpful.

Through this letter we would like to extend our most sincere thanks to everyone involved with this process, including all the volunteer wardens along the road and the staff at the Medical Centre.

My wife and I would like to thank all the volunteers and NHS staff for the exceptional efficiency displayed when we attended the Bridport Medical Centre for our Covid vaccinations. We were welcomed by members of the Round Table and directed where to park.

In the large marquee other volunteers checked temperature and issued hand sanitiser, before others directed us into the building to receive our vaccination. We were back in our car 4 minutes before our allotted time.

Whoever, was responsible for the outstanding organisation deserves the warmest congratulations. It made one proud to be British.

Today, Saturday the 23rd, I had my first Covid 19 vaccination.

From the moment I arrived at one of the designated car parks, volunteer marshals were there to assist everyone, and through the whole system I can only say it was very well organised and at no point was anyone unsure of what to do, or where to go.

So to all involved especially the very many volunteers a very big ‘Well Done’ to you all, it could not work without you.
