I HAVE been hearing that there are businesses which are trying to change employment contracts so that money can be saved, due to redundancy and the like being avoided.
There are businesses which have been busy during the coronavirus episode yet have put their staff on furlough?
All I am saying is make sure whomever is going back to work, that your rights are being upheld. It is easy to be bulldozed if work is essential to survive, however, you are important, and your rights cannot be sold down the river.
I found when I had a small company of my own, that respecting and being honest with my employees always paid dividends, and it enabled me to sleep well at night. It is the staff that make a business what it is and a good reputation has to be earned, yet it is very easy to lose.
I wish all local businesses well in these times of uncertainty. Success will come if we all pull together, in the same direction; including using our local businesses to give them maximum support.
