Letter: Two minutes' silence interrupted by food waste truck
I was touched how many households in Elizabeth Avenue stood outside their doors and at the kerbside to honour the two minutes silence at 11am on VE Day.
At exactly the same time the food waste truck came up the street with safety lights flashing and noisily going about its work.
Quite disrespectful given the presence of so many residents obviously honouring a national moment of remembrance.
