WEYMOUTH Wildcats’ co-promoter Martin Peters is in resilient mood prior to the eye-catching Midland & Southern Development League clash at Exeter Falcons tonight.

Peters, who watched the Wildcats suffer a 23-13 loss against the Falcons in Poole, is aiming to “push them hard” in the return contest at Plymouth.

Speaking to Echosport, Peters was respectful of Exeter, who hold third place in the standings, but targeted a disruption to the form book.

He said: “They’ve got a strong team out again so it’s literally hoping we can give them a push and you never know what might happen.

“People fall off, get mechanical problems and a result can swing on a couple of breakdowns.

“We can try and push them hard at least and if the team ride as best they can then you’ve always got a fighting chance.

“We had that with Carmarthen – altogether there were 10 falls. Breakdowns do happen but I suppose it’s how well you look after the kit.”

Wildcats make two alterations to the roster that lost 23-12 to Birmingham Bull last week as Cesca Kirtley-Paine and Sam Peters replace Jacob Clouting and James Jessop.
