THE article in last week’s News about the CQC report into care homes quoted minor inspection points, which have now been addressed and rectified. After the Panorama programmes we are all sensitive to the risks associated with bad practice, but the impression given by your article is completely at odds with my experience. My mother resides very happily at Conegar Lodge and is carefully and kindly treated, with a real concern for her own wishes and preferences. The people who work there do a difficult job and I am extremely grateful to them for their care of my mother and would recommend this home to anyone who wanted a safe haven for an elderly relative.
