I am writing to say what a wonderful fun/remembrance day we had at Chancery House for Josie Castelli.
Josie Castelli was my mum and she had been attending Chancery House for nearly 12 years, until she sadly passed away earlier this year. She was referred to Chancery House by social services as a means of helping her mix with people and not to feel isolated. Chancery House and its staff transformed my mum’s life, she looked forward to going there, because of the companionship and care she received and each day there was something different going on.
Arts and craft, keep fit, bingo and, on special occasions, days out.
She made lots of friends and it gave her a purpose to get up, dress up and get out of the house for a few hours each day.
Lunch was provided and so was transport and the cost of these services was well worth the money due to the care and benefits my mum received.
Chancery House and its staff are a lifeline to the older generation. It’s far more than simply a meeting place – it gives support and care to those who need it and is tailored to individual needs. As my mum’s carer for the past five years I soon found that the staff at Chancery House not only helped my mum but also supported me in looking after her.
