BRIDPORT Reserves’ chief Shaun Annetts admits his side’s lack of competitive action has been “hugely frustrating”.

The Bees have only been able to feature once since the turn of the year – a 1-1 draw at home against Sherborne Town Reserves back on January 19. They are not set to feature again until early in March.

Speaking about the lack of match time, Annnetts said: “We are just desperate for a game now to be honest.

“The lads have been very good and we have still been training on Tuesdays and Thursdays, we have also had sessions on a Saturday with five-a-sides on the 3G at Beaminster, just to keep the guys going when we can.

“I can’t really thank the players enough because it has been difficult but their commitment to training for me has been phenomenal.

“There are also a fantastic crop of under-16 lads that are champing at the bit and, in the last five or six weeks, I have included if not one but two of them in my squad because I want to incorporate them with us through the rest of the season.

“Sadly, because of the postponed fixtures it hasn’t happened yet.

“It is hugely frustrating.”

Lyme Regis saw their game against Bampton in the Bill Slee Cup postponed last weekend. The Seasiders are scheduled to host the University Thirds on Saturday (3pm).
