BRIDPORT 2 FROME TOWN 2
BRIDPORT again impressed manager Trevor Senior on Saturday with a 2-2 draw against Southern League outfit Frome Town.
Ryan Dovell gave the home side the lead from the penalty spot after he had been felled in the area.
Frome levelled when a cross from the right went straight into the far corner of the Bridport net.
But Tom Richardson made it 2-1 to the hosts before the break, converting from close range following a goalmouth scramble.
The Bees played some nice football in the second half but the only goal came from the visitors to force a draw.
“It was a very good game and I was really pleased with how we played,” said Senior. “I expected more from Frome, to be fair.
“I thought we dominated the first half and came in 2-1 up, though our penalty was a bit dubious. We played some good stuff in the second half, though Frome had a little bit more of the game.”
Bridport’s next pre-season friendly is against Balti House at Redlands on Thursday (7pm), before a double-header with Wincanton at St Mary’s Field on Saturday (1.30pm).
