Lyme Regis 5 MILLWEY RISE 1

JULIEN Simier and Steve Batey both bagged doubles as Lyme Regis moved to the top of the Perry Street League Premier Division table with a thumping 5-1 home win over Millwey Rise.

The Seasiders went behind in the clash but responded with a superb second-half performance to stretch their unbeaten start in the league to five games, which has included four victories.

Boss Karl Diment said: “It is all coming together quite nicely at the moment.

“We went behind against the run of play on 12 minutes and that put Millwey’s tails up for a while but we got back level through Steve and after the break we completely dominated.

“Julien grabbed two, Steve got another one and then Dan Rudge completed the victory with the fifth.

“It was just another excellent team performance and the challenge now is just to keep that level going.”

Lyme could be without up to five players for Saturday’s trip to Combe Reserves with Will Mowbray, Joel Gosling, Dave Matthews, Chris Higgs and Rudge all set to miss out.

Diment added: “We have had a settled side out up to now and that has really helped us.

“Whether so many changes will affect our pattern of play or not at Combe we will have to wait and see but it does give a few others a chance to stake a claim and show me what they can do.”

Combe currently lie seventh in the division having picked up just five points so far.
