Beaminster Seconds collected their first Division Four points of the season – but were hammered by eight wickets at table-topping Child Okeford.

Batting first, Beaminster were skittled for 102 as only opener Hacon Edgley (32) offered meaningful resistance, with Dean Hyett (16) the other batsman to reach double figures.

Terry Field (1-12) struck an early blow in Child Okeford’s reply but the home side had little trouble in chasing down the runs, which they achieved with 16 overs to spare.

Bridport Seconds extended their perfect start to the season with a convincing seven-wicket victory over Broadstone Fourths.

The seconds, who dismissed Broadstone for 146 at the Delph, claimed maximum points and now sit at the summit of Division Six following their third consecutive victory.

Liam Toohill produced a sparkling performance with bat and ball as Symene maintained the pressure on leaders Portland Red Triangle.

The Symondsbury outfit claimed their third straight win in Dorset Sunday League Division Four and are currently in second place – just one average point behind the islanders.

Toohill illustrated great line and length in his spell of 7-1-14-2 as Parley mustered just 164-8 and Symene had no trouble in knocking off the runs.

Toohill top-scored with 54 while Phil Hawkins added 35 and Mark Tozer (25 not out) and Nick Skyrme (19 not out) saw the home side over the line with an unbroken stand of 45.

Broadwindsor cruised to a comfortable 81-run victory over visitors West & Middle Chinnock in Mid-Wessex League Division One.

Electing to bat first, Joe Hawkins (67), Ross Baker (73) and John Hendy (44) all performed well as the villagers posted 246-6 from their 40 overs.

In reply the visitors reached 50-0 before Ade Phillips (3-32) made the breakthrough and young Jack Walklett (2-19) strangled the reply, which finished on 165-7.
