RICKY Stubbs was left frustrated after Warminster handed his Bridport side a walkover in the Dorset & Wilts Senior Vase.

On the positive side, the forfeit has set the Blues up with a semi-final clash at Melksham on November 10 but it also means they will now go into this Saturday’s home league clash with Sherborne Seconds not having played for three weeks.

Stubbs said: “It was a bit frustrating to say the least and it is not the way we wanted to go through.

“However, there was nothing we could do about it and all we can do now is focus on Saturday.

“To go three weeks without a game is far from ideal especially when you want to keep the momentum going after a positive start to the season but it is what it is and we just have to get on with it.

“Sherborne are a handy side so we are certainly going to need to have our wits about us.

“For that reason, we are trying to ensure all the boys are available to train this week so we can make sure our whole approach to the game is what it should be.”

Bridport boast a 100 per cent record in Dorset & Wilts One South where they currently sit second, four points above Sherborne.
