BRIDPORT manager Chris Herbst is looking for back-to-back victories to underpin the Bees’ recovery from a 5-0 loss to Okehampton Argyle last Saturday.

Herbst’s men beat Stoke Gabriel & Torbay Police 2-0 after a team meeting to dissect the Okehampton loss.

And the Bees now travel to sixth-placed Newton Abbot Spurs searching for consecutive wins for the first time since March.

Herbst told the Bridport News: “It’s a tough game. We’ve got three or four coming back so it makes my headache even harder.

“Whoever doesn’t make it, it’s one of those. It’s hard to change that side when we’ve got a clean sheet and created lots of chances.

“I won’t change the team unless there’s someone missing. We’ve got to back it up and we’ve got to target another four wins.

“We’ll only grow in confidence and I want to finish the season on a high. I don’t want it to fizzle out and end up finishing fourth, fifth or sixth. I want to finish second.

“I know it’s out of our hands but if we can apply the most pressure and get four wins then it’s down to them.

“I’d rather have points on the board and the other teams have got a lot of games to play. That may play a factor.”

Jake Owen, Dan Baggs, Will Gape and James Cox are all in contention to return.
