BRIDPORT RFC held their annual Tens Tournament on another glorious sunny day as four teams took part.

Swanage & Wareham fielded two squads alongside hosts Bridport and near neighbours Crewkerne.

Despite earlier concerns, the pitch was in good condition with a healthy covering of grass and the participating teams enjoyed their first full contact games for some time.

Bridport played entertaining rugby throughout with debuts from some bright young players blending well with the established talent.

Bridport player of the tournament was the eternally mobile warrior, Daragh McLoughlin.

After a full programme of games, players from all clubs decided to have a final match with mixed teams played in a carnival atmosphere reflecting the true spirit of rugby.

The Tens trophy was won by Swanage & Wareham who had finished top after the round robin.

The player of the tournament award – a bottle of scotch – was decided by the referees and went to Jamie O'Shea of Swanage & Wareham.

Elsewhere, a raffle was held in aid of ‘Stepping Out’, the cancer charity.

Bridport RFC have a friendly fixture at home on Saturday against Huish Tigers (2.30pm) followed by a full list of league fixtures for the coming season when they would welcome your support.
