TED Stordy produced an excellent round of golf to finish with the best score out of a 63-man field in the men’s Stableford competition.

The course was playable on Sunday morning after a good deal of overnight rain, and the top two scores came from Division Two.

Stordy and Martin Horton both carded 40 points, with the former taking first place after countback.

The next highest score was in Division One with Peter Marshall coming out on top with 37 points.

One point below that with 36 points was the winning score in Division Three, carded by Andrew Reichter.

Division One: 1 Peter Marshall (9) 37 points, 2 (acb) Steve Crabb (6) 35, 3 Steve Pitcher (12) 35.

THE November Medal took place on Saturday and was won by Tom Hunt with a tremendous score of 79-16=63.

Unsurprisingly, that earned him a two-shot handicap reduction. Kieran Mulhall was runner-up with a score of 77-5=72.

AFTER a disastrous Monday night when the heavens left the fairways running with water and the ponds were whipped into frenzy by a howling gale, it was not surprising that the course was closed and the Texas Scramble cancelled, writes Lyn Hargrave.

The omens for the second round of the Legg Bowl, which was due to take place on Wednesday, were not good.

Opponents Crane Valley suggested a change of venue, however, after hard work by the ground staff the course opened at 7am on the day of the event.

The silver pairing of Sue Walsh and Marion Hurley won their match (three up) and the bronze pair of Liz Thompson and Sue Kelson lost theirs (one down) as Bridport won the trophy.

On Thursday, members held their AGM where they said their farewells to outgoing captain Liz Walker and welcomed Liz Thompson who will hold her drive-in next week.
