BEAMINSTER School’s Year Eight netball team finished third in the County Tournament played in a chilly Bournemouth.
This was the best result any Weymouth, Dorchester or West Dorset school has ever had in the history of the competition.
Beaminster PE teacher and the girls’ coach, Rachael Randall, said: “Every member of the team played at least four halves, so every one of them contributed to the team’s success.
“They played brilliantly and I am very proud of them.”
The team were: Louisa Flem-ing, Alice Crocker, Sarah Allen, Harriet Greenham, Amy Mottola, Emma Bishop, Esme Wardle, Alice Glover, Becca Glover, Chloe Diment and Beth Mear. Rosie Palmer is pictured but was unable to play on the day.
The girls had to beat five other teams from Dumpton, Talbot Heath, Woodroffe, Cranborne Middle and Bournemouth School for Girls, before finally finishing in a fantastic third place behind Clayesmore and Hanford Schools.
