Voters in Lyme Regis will have a new polling station for the elections next May.

Following the European Parliamentary Election in May 2014, some concerns about access and parking were raised about the polling station at St Michaels Business Centre in Church Street.

During the summer, West Dorset District Council consulted with district councillors and Lyme Regis Town Council to identify suitable premises.

The district council has decided to use the Communal Room at Halletts Court in Queens Walk for the combined parliamentary, district council and town council elections scheduled for Thursday 7 May 2015 on a trial basis.

People need to register by Monday April 20, for a new postal vote or to make changes to an existing postal or proxy vote the deadline is 5pm on Tuesday, April 21 and for requesting a new proxy vote it is 5pm on Tuesday, April 28. For more information about elections visit dorsetforyou.com/elections
