THE RNLI lifeboat station in Lyme Regis had the luck of the draw and is now £5,100 better off.
Two company bosses nominated the charity as their favourite in a draw to receive the proceeds of a raffle.
The draw took place at the AGM of AWEBB (Association of Wholesale Electrical Bulk Buyers) a month ago in Windsor.
“And out of the hat came our choice of the RNLI at Lyme Regis,” said Tony Taylor, co-owner of C and S Electrical Wholesale of Taunton, Chard and Exmouth.
Mr Taylor, from Ilminster, and his business partner Simon Graydon, from Taunton, both keen fishermen, presented the cheque to the Lyme Regis volunteer lifeboat crew during Sunday’s training session.
Lifeboat operations manager Grahame Forshaw said: “This was a very generous donation to our lifesaving charity, and we will ensure it is put to good use.”
