COASTGUARDS helped to rescue an injured person from a beach in west Dorset.
The West Bay team were called to help paramedics with a man who had suffered a dislocated knee on the beach at Seatown.
Coastguards were asked to help evacuate the casualty from the beach.
A spokesman for West Bay Coastguard Rescue Team said: "Four Coastguard officers from West Bay including the Station Officer quickly made their way to the station to pick up their equipment and the team's rescue vehicle.
"On arrival at Seatown, the casualty was in the care of a quick response paramedic who had administered pain relief and had made the casualty as comfortable as possible.
"Once the paramedic had splinted and immobilised the leg, the Coastguard officers packaged the casualty into the team's rescue stretcher and carried him the short distance up the beach to a waiting ambulance.
"We wish the casualty a full and speedy recovery."
It happened earlier this week but the details have only recently been released by the team.
