A man was injured in a collision between a motorcycle and a car in Bridport.

A spokesman for Dorset Police said they were called to the incident at 8.16am after the two vehicles collided on Sea Road South in the town.

They said: "The collision involved a black Honda motorcycle registered to a man at a Bridport address, and a black Ford Grand C-max registered to a woman in Bridport.

"The motorcyclist's injuries are not thought to be serious."

South Western Ambulance Service also attended the incident and a spokesman said: "We got the call at 8.08am after there were reports that a man in his 20s was off his motorbike and the road was blocked."

Dorset Police said they initially believed the man's injuries included a broken arm or wrist, but the South Western Ambulance Service spokesman said: "We sent a couple of vehicles to the scene but he was treated for his injuries on the scene and was not conveyed to hospital."

There were delays along Sea Road South this morning due to the collision.
