The Co-op re-opens today after a £310k investment.
The Broad Street store has been transformed to create a new shopping experience.
Enhancements include a focus on fresh, healthy foods and essentials together with new flooring and new refrigeration for the range of fresh dairy, meat and other chilled produce.
Manager Will McCrea said: “We’re thrilled with the significant investment in Lyme and delighted to have a fantastic new food store to serve – it’s exciting .”
The store’s open day will include a donation of more than £500 to St Michael’s Primary and Pre-School, Lyme Regis, whose playground fund will be the focus of in-store fundraising this year.
The revamped store will also offer an extended range of Free From foods, free from wheat, gluten or dairy and developed with the help of a taste team panel made up of Co-operative employees who have coeliac disease.
There is also a new role, a community pioneer, where staff member Bex Kentfield will work to foster involvement in community activities; from fundraising initiatives to helping meet community needs.
Mr McCrea added: “The store will be a hub for the community. Customers can find out what is going on locally, and learn about how the Co-op can benefit local groups.”
