Paddington Bear has been doing the rounds in West Dorset this week, marking the start of many adventures across the county.
Off the back of the international release of the new Paddington film, the Visit Dorset Tourism Partnership have been working with VisitBritain in a campaign to promote Britain as a great destination.
Dorset was selected to host the famous marmalade-loving bear, and the Visit Dorset team will be sharing photos of Paddington on Twitter at key locations around Dorset until the end of January, using the hashtag #PaddingtonsBritain.
Paddington’s itinerary has so far seen him discover Dorchester attractions such as Keep Military Museum, Thomas Hardy’s statue and the Teddy Bear Museum, where Paddington met his ancestors.
But a visit to Dorset wouldn’t be complete without a trip to West Bay – and Paddington took great delight in visiting the film location of ITV drama Broad-church. Paddington also took time for a stroll along the iconic Cobb in Lyme Regis. Nick Thornley, on behalf of the Visit Dorset Tourism Partnership, said: “We're delighted to welcome Paddington to Dorset.
“His well known love of exploring new places makes him the perfect icon for inspiring visitors to discover all that is great about the county.”
Paddington has also built a sandcastle on Weymouth Beach, visited the Olympic Rings on Portland and taken a selfie at the Portland Bill lighthouse.
