The Hub has been going from strength to strength with further fund-raising events and praise from visitors.

Over the past few months staff at The Hub have been busy improving things for children and young people in the town.

A £1,000 donation has also come from Dorset County Council’s Youth Service, and various businesses across the town raised more than £300 for a new replacement window for the upstairs hall area.

The Hub recently held a ‘Hub Horrors’ event on Halloween, with face-painting, arts, crafts and more at the Marine Parade from 10am until 3pm.

Horrific games and fun were part of the spooky night at The Hub, with all funds contributing towards further improvements to the building.

There was also a double bill of horror movies at The Hub from 6pm for children under 12 and 8pm onwards for older children.

Diane Earle, manager at The Hub, said: “The Hubs Horrors event was just fantastic; young people enjoyed taking part in craft activities and face painting at Marine Parade during the day and then ghosts and ghouls arrived for scary movies at The Hub in the evening.

“A massive thank you must go to all of the young Hub Horror helpers, who helped raise £180 towards funding for a new window.”

In addition, scouts from the 2nd Exeter Scouts, pictured above, also recently stayed at The Hub and scout leader Jim Taylor praised the venue.

He said: “I was keen to find a venue to allow me to bring our cub pack down to Lyme Regis for some fossil hunting but also needed a venue with easy access to the town centre and other tourist attractions.

“The Hub ticked all the boxes. Not only was there loads of internal space to occupy the children in wet weather, but we were only 100 yards from the beach.

“We will definitely come back again and would recommend this as a superb venue for any other groups.”

Large groups using The Hub is a great way to continue fundraising for essential building work and facility improvements at the venue, added Diane.

The Hub also hosts a range of activities for young people in the town, including a youth club on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings.
