TALENTED and gifted students from the Sir John Colfox Academy recently visited Oxford University.
The students visited one of the university’s most illustrious colleges, Merton.
The first day of the trip began with a tour of the college, before a trip to the Pitt Rivers Museum and a scavenger hunt around Oxford city centre.
This was followed by lunch back at Merton Hall with a further tour and a question and answer session with some of the college’s undergraduate students.
Dinner was then followed by a trip to the local ice rink so the students could unwind before heading the local youth hostel to rest.
The second day saw the group visit the Natural History Museum where the dinosaurs and especially the T-Rex caught everyone’s attention.
The students lunched back at Merton Hall before enjoying a computer science session to see what university studying can be like before a trip to a vintage sweet shop rounded off the trip.
The Sir John Colfox Academy said that the trip inspired the students with many now considering a future at the prestigious university.
