STAFF and pupils are celebrating after Thorncombe St Mary’s School gained a ‘good’ rating in its Ofsted report.
The school was rated as good with outstanding features.
Inspectors praised pupils’ outstanding behaviour around school and in lessons.
They said that it was a key factor in ensuring that pupils make good progress in all year groups.
The report also found that pupils feel safe and display a high level of respect for the feelings and well being of others.
Inspectors also said that there is a strong sense of community in the school and that pupils attitudes to learning were outstanding.
Parents spoken to by the inspector, or who used the online survey to express their opinions about the school, said they would recommend it to others.
