Families in Bridport had reason to celebrate at Easter thanks to donations from local bikers.

The Bridport Family Hub - formerly known as Bridport Children’s Centre - received a donation from the Motorcycle Action Group (MAG) in a fundraiser hosted at the Crown Inn in Bridport.

The event, organised by the MAG, saw members undertake an Easter egg collection and ride out to gather donations for families in need.

Mike and Beth from the MAG delivered the Easter eggs to the hub on Tuesday, adding a touch of festive cheer by dressing up as bunnies for the occasion.

Expressing their motivation behind the fundraiser, Mike and Beth emphasised their desire to support local children facing challenging circumstances.

The MAG, known for their regular Wednesday night meetings at 8pm at the Crown Inn, was also thankful to the venue for storing the eggs.

Nicola Shoemark, representing the Family Hub, said she is 'immensely grateful' for the 'generous' donation and it brought joy to local children during Easter.

The Bridport Family Hub, next to St Mary’s School, serves as a welcoming haven for families seeking information, advice and support.

From play sessions to health visiting, midwifery, parenting programmes, and informative sessions, the hub offers a range of support services tailored to babies, children, young people and their families.

The MAG is a riders' rights organisation that champions and promotes motorcycling in the UK. It has branches across the country.
