Road maintenance is scheduled to close a village road next week.
The C68 running through Uploders and Yondover, near Loders, will be closed between its junction with New Road and the junction with New Street Lane, a distance of about 1,115 metres.
The road closure is necessary for civil engineering firm Multevo Ltd to undertake kerbing, signposts and iron work maintenance along the carriageway.
Dorset Council has issued a public notice in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users.
It will come into operation from 09.30am until 3.30pm on Wednesday, March, 20, and will remain in force for 18 months, however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed on the day.
An alternative route will be sign posted as follows; A35 - A3066 - Townsend Way - Higher Street.
