A BRIDPORT caterer spent three nights as a private chef to film and TV star Stephen Graham.

The actor who has won praise for roles in TV dramas and Hollywood movies, including Boiling Point, Line of Duty and The Irishman, stayed in Bridport with his wife Hannah Walters, their children and their extended family.

Samuel Hill, owner and founder of Bridport-based events catering business Hungry Mule, became the actor's private chef during their stay in the town.

Mr Hill also runs The Supper Club restaurant in Bridport which opens every Friday evening, his wife Sarah helps him run both businesses.

Mr Hill said: "I am a big fan of his, I am a huge fan of This is England and Peaky Blinders.

"I was their private chef over three nights.

"They had a mix of food with a fully catered plated and waited for, high-end dinner party on one evening, our big pan jambalaya and canapes on another and ribs and grazing boards on another, as well as some of Sarah's amazing desserts.

"They were really impressed with the food, Stephen kept saying how our scotch eggs and ribs were the best he's ever had.

"It was surreal I couldn't believe it, I was buzzing.

"They are looking to book us again for private catering later this year and have also said they'd like to book on to The Supper Club next time they are in the area."

Stephen Graham and Hannah Walters both starred in the British drama film Boiling Point and its subsequent TV series, in which Graham plays head chef Andy Jones.

After watching the series on TV, Mr Hill said it made him feel nervous about impressing the actor.

"I wasn't nervous about cooking for them until I watched Boiling Point which both Stephen and Hannah star in, complete with all of its amazing food photography, he added.

"They soon put me at ease though as they are such a lovely, down-to-earth family.

"Hollywood celebs appreciate good food just the same as anybody else

"Since meeting him I have seen him in loads of other things too and I'm starting to realise how big a deal it is.

"He was a lovely bloke, so down to earth."

After their stay in Bridport, Hannah Walters wrote to to Mr Hill.

She said: "Thank you so much for looking after our tummies with the most incredible dishes!! Outstanding food, enjoyed every mouthful. Will see you again later this year!"

The Supper Club is open on Dreadnought Trading Estate in Bridport on Friday evenings 7-10pm.
