Entertainment at the Electric Palace in Bridport this week includes the movie Half Nelson (15). An inner-city junior high school teacher with a drug habit forms an unlikely friendship with one of his students after she discovers his secret. Half Nelson will be showing on Friday October 5 and Sunday 7 at 6pm and Tuesday October 9 to Thursday 11 at 8.30pm.

In My Best Friend (12A) Catherine refuses to believe that her business partner, the unlikeable François, has a best friend, so she challenges him to set up an introduction. Scrambling to find someone willing to pose as his best pal, François enlists the services of a charming taxi driver to play the part. My Best Friend will be screened on Friday October 5 and Sunday 7 at 8.30pm and Tuesday 9 to Thursday 11 at 6pm.

Chicken Run (U) is this week's Children's Show. Chicken Run is a comedy escape drama with a touch of passion set on a sinister Yorks chicken farm in 1950's England and will be showing on Saturday October 29 at 10.30am.

The White Countess (PG) is the Silver Screen Movie showing on Monday October 8 and Thursday 11 at 2.30pm. Set in 1930s Shanghai, where a blind American diplomat develops a curious relationship with a young Russian refugee who works odd -- and sometimes illicit -- jobs to support members of her dead husband's aristocratic family.

The Dylan Howe Quintet will be performing on Saturday evening (October 6) from 8pm until 11.30pm, tickets are available from Bridport Record Centre.
