Letter: Not opposing Chideock Bypass, Picture: GRAHAM HUNT
In reference to last week’s article stating that Dorset County Council is not supporting a bypass for Chideock, Chideock Parish Council points out that the document in question is DCC’s response to the Department for
Transport consultation on proposals for the creation of a new road network category, the Major Road Network.
The consultation ended on March, 19 2018.
The A35 is a Trunk Road and part of the Strategic Road Network, so DCC could not include it in their response to the MRN consultation.
Chideock Parish Council does not oppose the parish poll vote for a bypass outside the parish boundary but wishes to concentrate on shorter term initiatives to improve safety and reduce pollution.
