Residents are being warned not to worry ahead of a fire training exercise.
Palmers Breweries has allowed Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service the use of the White Hart Hotel in Beaminster for a fire drill. It is due to take place on Monday, April 30 from 7pm and will last approximately two hours.
On-call firefighters from Beaminster, Bridport, Charmouth and hopefully Maiden Newton will be involved in the exercise, which will involve the use of a smoke machine. Crews will wear breathing apparatus and test their search skills within the building.
On-call support officer Andy Burwood, who has organised the training, said: “We’re very grateful to Palmers and Robbie Roskell for all their assistance in giving us the use of the hotel. We just want local people to be aware that this is happening, so they’re not alarmed when they see all the fire engines.”
