On Saturday, April 14, beginning at around 8 o'clock or as soon after as possible and once the mobile crane arrives the boats will finally return to the harbour and their summer moorings. The fortnight's delay has been due to unforeseen circumstances, but hopefully the weather will be kind from now on. It will be a real treat to see the harbour looking more like it's seasonal self once more. The pontoons went back a fortnight ago and are already being put to full use.

Tonight, Thursday, April 12, at 7.30pm, pop along to the Salt House to this year's annual general meeting of the West Bay Community Forum. As well as transacting the usual business of an AGM we will hear an update from the chairman concerning the current problems with car parking in and around the Bay. Harry Britton will be speaking on local wild life which promises to be an interesting and enlivening talk. The forum is always looking for new members so if this appeals to you come along tonight and discover more for yourselves.

Work commences on Monday, April 16 on the resurfacing work on the Bridport Arms Car Park, so there is likely to be a considerable amount of local disruption. This is the first of the three West Bay car parks to undergo this work which in total is expected to last 12 weeks. We will have to wait and see just how disruptive this is going to be, but in the meantime can I make a plea for tolerance and understanding.

An update on the progress of the work in the Discovery Centre, that is the disused Methodist Chapel on the East Beach. A mezzanine floor is in the process of being constructed and the first fit of electrical work is taking place. Those concerned with this project are satisfied with the progress being made and hope to be able to share further developments with you soon.
