POLICE were called to break up a fight outside a Bridport pub.

Officers were called to the town centre in the early hours of Saturday morning to incidents involving people fighting – with two people arrested.

A Dorset Police spokeswoman said: "We were called at 1.09am on Saturday, March 4 to reports of a fight inside the Greyhound Pub in East Street in Bridport.

"A 21-year-old man from Salisbury was arrested on suspicion of assault, criminal damage, possession of a class A and possession of a class B drug and has been released on police bail pending further enquiries until mid-March 2017."

A man sustained a head injury during another incident on East Street.

The spokeswoman added: "We were called at 2.27am to reports of a fight at Bridport Kebab House on East Street in Bridport.

"The incident is reported to then have moved along East Street. One man sustained a head injury and was treated at the scene by the ambulance service. No arrests have been made in connection with the assault.

"While dealing with the incident, a 21-year-old local woman was arrested in connection with an unrelated public order offence. She was subsequently issued with a Fixed Penalty Notice for a disorder offence."
