THE Air Ambulance has been called to a crash on the A35 near the Dorset and Devon border.

Police were called shortly after 3.30pm to the collision which involves a car, lorry and a van.

The collision occurred on the A35, near Charmouth Road at Hunter’s Lodge.

Devon and Cornwall Police, South Western Ambulance Service and fire crews are on the scene and the air ambulance also attended. 

One male casualty is being taken to hospital with spinal injuries which are not believed to be life changing or life threatening while another man is being taken to hospital to be treated for whiplash. 

The A35 is currently closed between the junctions with the B3261 and A358 whilst emergency services are at the scene. 

There are believed to be two male casualties, a 53-year-old male with head injuries and another male with injuries which are unknown at this time.

Traffic is currently being routed through Axminster.
