POLICE launch an appeal for driver who may have witnessed a crash to come forward.

Dorset Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash that happened at around 7.20pm on Saturday (18) on the A3066 Beaminster Road.

Officers said that a blue Lotus Elise, driven by a 41-year-old local man, left the road and mounted the grass verge between Bridport and Melpash. Damage was caused to the vehicle but no injuries were sustained during the incident.

Officers would like to speak to the driver of a red BMW Series 1 who was travelling toward Melplash at the time of the collision.

Police Constable Nigel Arak-Newman, of Bridport police, said: “The driver of the BMW is likely to have seen the incident. I am urging them to get in contact with me as soon as possible to help with our enquiries.

“I am also appealing to anyone else who witnessed the incident to call 101 with their information.”
