WEST DORSET: The Dorset History Network is teaming up with the Dorset Archives Trust for a ‘What's New in Dorset Local History’ event at the Dorset History Centre in Dorchester on November 8.
The study day includes news from archaeology, historic buildings and archive research. Members will also update the group on their own work. Hayley Roberts from Bournemouth University will speak about the community archaeology project, part of the South Dorset Ridgeway Landscape Partnership.
Dr Jo Cox, buildings historian and conservation consultant, will talk about the Shire Hall building and Dr Carol Beardmore from Leicester University, will speak about the land agent in rural communities with reference to William Castleman and his association with the Anglesey estate in Dorset.
