YOUNG people with mental health difficulties in Dorset and South Devon are amongst five groups across the South West that will now share over £1.3 million from the Big Lottery Fund.
The fund’s Reaching Communities programme awards National Lottery money to projects which help communities and people most in need.
The Wave Project CIC has received £138,994 to help it expand its successful pilot to improve the lives of children and young people with mental health or emotional issues by teaching them to surf.
Tim Davies-Pugh, Big Lottery Fund Deputy Director England, said: “Today’s Reaching Communities awards to projects in the South West illustrate how National Lottery funding can be used by so many different communities to make a big difference to so many individual lives.”
