Road access to North Allington, Bridport, has been disrupted after a power cable detached from its fitting, leaving it hanging low over the road.
The cause was attributed to a failed bracket, resulting in the cable dropping down from its usual position. The Bridport, Beaminster and Lyme Regis Safer Neighbourhood Teams warned of continued disruptions into Friday night while repair works were carried out.
A spokesperson from Western Power said the failure was reported at 4:14pm today and an engineer had been dispatched to the location.
An official at Dorset Fire and Rescue Service said: “We did get a call but our crews didn’t attend. A power cable attached to a house in North Allington is hanging down after a bracket failed.”
