POLICE and paramedics were called to attend to a drunk man at West Bay this afternoon.

A member of the public called the emergency services at around 1.30pm today, Thursday, June 5.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "There was a report of a concern for welfare. The man was lying on the beach a mile down the coast from West Bay.

"Paramedics also attended to check him over. He said he was having a drink in the sun."

The man walked away from the scene without assistance, the spokesperson added.
